What is a dark kitchen?

A dark kitchen gives you access to a private commercial kitchen in which you can prepare food and send it out for delivery under your own food brands.

How do FoodPro Kitchens work?

We pair you with a perfect workspace and provide you with the tools you need to launch and grow a booming food brand with limited start-up costs for customers to discover on food delivery apps, pick-up, and online.

Do the kitchens come equipped?

Our kitchens come equipped with everything you’ll need to plug your equipment and get your ideal private commercial kitchen from there.

What are the benefits of starting a dark kitchen?

There are many benefits including low overhead costs, quick start-up time, reduced employee costs, capability to experiment with different menu and to expand into new markets with low risk.

What size commercial kitchens do you offer?

Our kitchens come in two sizes; 17sqm and 22 sqm.

Do you provide extra storage for my business?

We offer chilled and frozen storage space to suit your needs.

Can vehicles access the facility easily for deliveries and collections?

Our location is set up for deliveries and collections with street level access.

What are the hours of access to the building?

We have 24-hour access to our site, 7 days of the week. Our site is staffed from 8am until 12am Monday to Thursday and 8am until 2am Friday to Sunday.

Are the kitchen units registered or certified with the local authority?

Every FoodPro Kitchens has been designed to meet the criteria set out by the local authority for commercial operation. It is a legal requirement for your business to register with the local authority. Once an inspection of your business is carried out, you will receive a food hygiene rating.

Who is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the common areas?

The FOODPRO KITCHENS team regularly clean all common areas, toilets and external areas. We also offer daily floor cleaning for private kitchens at an additional cost.

Do I need to take out business insurance for my kitchen?

Each business is required to take out their own insurance policy (minimum £3m public liability). You are also responsible for your own employer’s liability insurance and contents and business insurance.

How does a FOODPRO KITCHENS License Agreement work?

We operate on a rolling basis with a typical 12 month minimum commitment.

How are utilities charged to FOODPRO KITCHENS members?

Each kitchen unit has its own electricity and gas meter which records your business’ individual energy consumption. Water and waste collection are charged on a per-kitchen basis.

Is there a waste management system in place?

Yes, trade refuse is managed by FoodPro Kitchens and costs for this are calculated on a per kitchen basis. We segregate waste into four streams and seek to recycle across general waste, mixed recycling, oil and food waste (no waste to landfill policy).
